Butler County Community College ransomware suspends classes and campus services

A ransomware intrusion that college officials subsequently traced to 19 November 2021 prompted the Pennsylvania institution to close all campuses and cancel instruction and noncredit courses on 29 and 30 November 2021. Students and staff could not obtain normal on-site or electronic support services during the response. The college contracted external cybersecurity specialists to investigate and restore its compromised systems.
