Lufkin school district ransomware disables student and campus systems

A ransomware intrusion during the weekend of 25–26 September 2021 disabled systems at Lufkin Independent School District in Texas. The district confirmed Skyward student-administration software and internet access were unavailable across campuses; some campus air-conditioning controls were affected as well. District staff and external specialists rebuilt systems while educational and facilities operations continued under degraded conditions, with some recovery work still ongoing by late October.
