Hellmann Worldwide Logistics cyberattack halts freight handling and delays customer shipments

A cyberattack detected in early December 2021 forced Hellmann Worldwide Logistics to disconnect core IT infrastructure, impairing freight forwarding and cargo dispatch. German customer aQua united reported it could not ship packaged goods from 8 December because Hellmann could not process groupage consignments; packed products accumulated in its warehouse. Hellmann later confirmed data extraction, while ransomware attribution was reported by security media.
