Lincoln College ransomware cripples admissions and administrative operations

Lincoln College discovered ransomware on December 19 that encrypted systems for registration, academic records, admissions, finance and fundraising. Essential recruitment and enrollment forecasting remained impaired for months; the attack aggravated pre-existing pandemic-related financial pressures and contributed to the college’s eventual May 2022 closure, but was not its sole cause.
