Zhydachiv municipal website compromise distributes false surrender announcements

On 3 March 2022, attackers gained control of the official online publication channel of the Zhydachiv territorial community in Ukraine and used it to display false claims that Ukraine had surrendered. Ukraine's Security Service warned citizens that the messages were fabricated, and Lviv regional reporting independently named Zhydachiv among the compromised local government websites. The confirmed consequence was corruption of information delivered through an official municipal service, not demonstrated interruption of other municipal operations.
