Wyandotte County government cyberattack delays vehicle services and tax payments
On 16 April 2022, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas detected a cyberattack involving its on-premises data-center systems and took servers and government database connections offline. Motor-vehicle registration and title services were delayed and a transaction backlog developed; property-tax payments could not be made online during the recovery. The county said its emergency and many other citizen services continued operating, so the material impact was limited to specified government-service workflows.
