DDoS attacks on Russian EGAIS delay alcohol distribution and halt brewery output
DDoS attacks against portals of Russia's EGAIS alcohol-production and distribution reporting system began around 2 May 2022, not 5 April as indicated by the source dataset. Industry participants reported failures and delays registering mandatory alcohol shipment documents, preventing receipt of alcohol inputs and release of finished goods to wholesalers and retailers. Kommersant reported that Moscow Brewing Company stopped production on 5 May amid the bottleneck; the company acknowledged production and shipping difficulties. The federal alcohol-market regulator maintained that EGAIS was operating normally but conceded delayed document responses for some users due to provider-channel load. Pro-Ukraine group Disbalanser publicly claimed the attacks; attribution is not independently confirmed.
