AGCO ransomware shuts agricultural-equipment plants and parts operations

AGCO disclosed a ransomware attack on May 5, 2022, subsequently reporting temporary closure of most production sites and parts operations. The Fendt tractor plant in Marktoberdorf, Germany, stopped production and its executive later estimated approximately 800 tractors were not built during the stoppage. Most sites resumed within roughly two weeks; AGCO also confirmed data exfiltration. The direct cyberattack was against US-headquartered AGCO, with an independently documented material production impact in Germany.
