Wiper attack slows processing of refugees at Ukraine–Romania border crossing

On or around 25 February 2022, a Ukrainian border control station handling travel into Romania was reportedly hit by a data-wiping cyberattack. Loss of computerized border-processing capability forced manual paper-based checks and materially slowed the clearance of people fleeing the invasion. The specific Ukrainian border IT system and exact technical damage could not be established.
