Iranian state broadcaster streaming hijack disrupts live television delivery

On 1 February 2022 hackers hijacked the Telewebion web-streaming platform carrying Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting programmes during an Iran–United Arab Emirates football match. The intruders repeatedly replaced legitimate live broadcasts with an unauthorized political video for several hours, while Telewebion separately acknowledged infrastructure irregularities and problems with its programme archive. The Adalat Ali group claimed responsibility; traditional over-the-air broadcasting was not affected in this incident.
